A brand new German fire station that burned down did not have a fire alarm system

In an unexpected turn of events, a newly constructed fire station in central Germany was gutted by a fire, causing damage estimated between 20 and 24 million euros. The fire, which originated from an emergency vehicle containing lithium-ion batteries, spread rapidly, raising questions about the lack of a fire alarm system in the recently opened facility. No injuries were reported.
