NHRC issues notice to chief secretaries and DGPs over shortage of fertilisers

The National Human Rights Commission has taken cognizance of widespread fertilizer shortages impacting farmers during the Kharif season. Notices have been issued to states/UTs and Union ministries, urging investigations and proper fertilizer distribution. Allegations of police action against farmers waiting for fertilizers have also prompted NHRC intervention, emphasizing the protection of farmers' rights.
